Voices from Our Parents:

My child attended here for three years. The strength of this place lies in its wonderful teachers who provide dedicated support. They actively engage with the children, so my child looked forward to going to Cambridge every day. There were many events, including outings to external facilities, which my child found very exciting.

We chose this school based on a recommendation from a trusted acquaintance, and it has truly been a wonderful choice over the past few years. From the toddler class through K2, the teachers have always been warm, caring, and genuinely happy to see our son grow and develop. The school has a welcoming, home-like atmosphere, and the enrichment programs are diverse and engaging. We especially appreciate how children are naturally immersed in English, Chinese, and Japanese language, as well as a diverse range of cultures, in a very supportive environment. We are truly grateful for the care and education our son has received here.

Mariko

My son has genuinely thrived here. We’ve seen clear growth in his confidence and independence: he separates more easily now and is excited to try new things. The teachers are warm and very responsive, and they’ve helped him build great daily routines (meals, handwashing, and nap time). Learning is also thoughtfully designed and age-appropriate: language, numbers, music, art, and sensory activities. He often come home to surprise me with new things learned at school. We also really appreciate the proactive updates and communication so we can also enjoy the happy moments he spent in school.

Cambridge @ River Valley is amazing! The teachers are absolutely wonderful, and we feel so lucky to have found such a caring team. We are especially grateful to Qian Ping Laoshi, Teacher Skye, Tong Laoshi, Teacher Jenn, Zeng Laoshi, Jing Wen Laoshi and Wu Laoshi. There are also great support from Japanese teachers(Megumi Sensei and Akira Sensei), which give them a lot of peace of mind. We really appreciate that they teach the children a lot about Japanese culture and manners as well. It means so much to us and is a huge help. It’s truly a great support for Japanese expatriate families too. We truly recommend Cambridge @River Valley. Our children love it so much that they even want to go on their days off, and seeing how happy they are makes us happy as parents too.

Asami

It has been two and a half years since my son started attending this school, and he is really looking forward to going to school every day. It's a very homely school where the entire school feels like a family. All the teachers are passionate about teaching and care about their students. Over the past year, he has been indebted to Teacher Skye, Qian Ping Laoshi and Wu Laoshi. We're very grateful to them for their patience with our son no matter what. I highly recommend this school!

Maiko

We have been with Cambridge @ River Valley for over two years, and it has truly been the best decision we’ve made for our daughter. From day one, the school has felt warm, nurturing, and full of positive energy. The children are genuinely happy to be there, and the overall vibe of the school is amazing. The teachers are exceptional. We are incredibly grateful to Jing Wen Laoshi, Teacher Munis, Teacher Jen, Tong Laoshi, and Zeng Laoshi, and Principal Jo for their care, patience, and dedication. They have made such a meaningful impact on the children’s growth and confidence.

There are so many things we love about the school: 1. Enrichment classes during school days – The school offers a wide variety of enrichment programs that allow children to explore different interests. Each semester includes performance showings, which is a wonderful way for parents to see the children’s progress and confidence grow. 2. True bilingual (and sometimes trilingual) environment – The exposure to Chinese, English, and even Japanese at such an early age is incredible. It feels very natural and immersive, and the kids pick up languages so easily. 3. Strong family and community values – The school warmly welcomes parent participation and organizes meaningful events such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Grandparents’ Day. They truly value family involvement and celebrate all religions and cultures, making it a very diverse and inclusive environment. 4. Thoughtful STEAM curriculum – The STEAM program introduces important concepts in age-appropriate ways, helping children develop holistically—academically, creatively, and socially. We are so thankful to be part of the Cambridge @ River Valley community.

Summar Yin

When I learnt the news of Primus Schoolhouse (PS) being sold & merged to become Cambridge @ River Valley (CRV) wef March 2025, I was really concerned as my child has different needs from other children his age. PS was already a good accommodating place where he was flourishing with a good principal of Miss Jo and his PS teachers [Miss (Yani, Fitrah, Urenee, Nurrul, Shama, Shivani, Neelam & Abby); laoshis (Ivy, Jin Han, Xiong and Wen Jing?)] which I need to list here cos they deserved the recognition. I did not want that to go away. Hence, like you, I scoured google reviews (you should trust the positive ones cos they are all true), read Richard Yen's e-book, visited CRV when it was then Cambridge Robertson (the former principal Miss Ria also assured me), attended the first presentation by Miss Skye, Qian Ping (QP) laoshi, Wu laoshi, Teacher Joy and Li laoshi (my child's main teachers) and that fact that Miss Jo was still staying on, I was sold. Within these 9 months and through my volunteering at excursions: 1) I have come to witness that CRV is really a warm & patient community. 2) The teachers & staff [Principal Jo, Miss Celeste, Aunties (Wong, Li & Treasure), Sinseis (Akira & Megumi), Teachers (Skye, Joy, Jen & Munis), Laoshis (Qian Ping, Wu, Li, Jing Wen, Tong & Zeng)] also work as a team. 3) We have learnt some Japanese and the Japanese community here is fabulous. 4) I have made friends with the parents & staff. 5) The children here are well-behaved. 6) My son has also made vast improvements in his education here as evident from his recent portfolio & concert. Kudos to his main teachers listed above. 7) You won't regret it here. 8) I wish I could give CRV a higher rating but I am stuck with 5. I better end this review here before it gets too long. Thank you for reading!

One of the best things we did for our kid was to send him to Cambridge @ River Valley! The teachers truly love all the children. What touches us the most is that they not only celebrate our kid’s strength, but also genuinely and patiently cheer him on when he makes small progress in his weaknesses as well. Can’t hope for a better environment for our child to grow up in! He is very happy to go to school every day and we can see his tremendous growth over the years. A big thank you to all the teachers, teacher Skye, Qianping Laoshi and Wu Laoshi, as well as Teacher Joy and Li Laoshi, for investing their hearts into the education of the children <3!! The whole school is a cheerful and loving community.

Our daughter moved here from another (bigger) preschool in the area, and she thrived here at Cambridge Robertson / River Valley. It felt like a well run small family community and a nice balance of structure and play. There was also exposure to Mandarin which we loved. My daughter was sad to leave here after we relocated back home.

Susan McKinstray

Our sons attended Cambridge @ Robertson for two years before we moved back to the UK. It is a wonderful pre-school, so caring and nurturing. The STEAM curriculum meant our children were ahead when we moved back to the UK. The teachers are incredible, very kind and loving. We have many happy memories of all of the fancy dress activities, enrichment classes, shows and activities such as parents coming in and booking their national dish with the class. Four years later we are still in touch with Principal Ria and Teacher Skye and had a wonderful reunion visit with them when we returned to Singapore on holiday. So many happy school memories. Can't recommend highly enough.

Boatman Family

Cambridge is a school that is very welcoming has a friendly staff and has an excellent learning environment. Parents can choose from an array of classes each semester such as coding and robotics, sports class, Chinese, dance and other enrichment courses. Additionally, the instructor goes above and beyond to help the development of children, completing detailed report cards and parent teacher conferences so parents always know how their child is progressing and where we can help continue development.

One perk of sending our child here is the photo gallery that shares to me moments in our child’s day. This really helps me feel more connected to my child when I’m not around and seeing how they interact with others. Overall, Cambridge is a school that really cares and I am so thankful for all the time these instructors have put in to help shape our child’s future. I feel confident that our kids will be successful in their learning career thanks to this wonderful school.

We witnessed how our son with ASD achieved many great milestones and unleashed much of his potential through the all rounded, multi faceted programmes that inspire, educate and empower him. We are truly grateful for Principal - Ms Ria, and all their teachers, T. Joy, T. Skye, Li Laoshi, Gian Ping Laoshi, Wu Laoshi, Megumi Sensei, Akira Sensei, Ms Celeste and all the staff who have dedicated the level of care, heart, and attention to nurture and inspire him.
It’s been a wonderful experience for us to see our 3 children grow, learn, and develop themselves from N1 to K2 levels under the professional care in Cambridge @ Robertson family.

Thank you!

Valentane Huang

Cambridge @ Robertson has been an absolute blessing for our family! From the moment we walked in year 2018 for a tour, we felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The facilities are bright, clean, and well-equipped, creating a stimulating STEM environment for learning and play. But what truly sets this preschool apart is the incredible team of educators, and in particular, our child's teacher, Teacher Joy. Teacher Joy is simply amazing. She has a genuine passion for teaching and a remarkable ability to connect with each child on an individual level. Our child, Rykeer joined during playgroup and has blossomed from his Nursery to Kindergarten years under all the wonderful Teachers(Zhao Lao Shi, Li Lao Shi, Zeng Lao Shi , Aunty Li, Senseis, Principal Mas and Principal Ria) as well as admin staff Celeste.

As a seasoned educator for 25 years, Teacher Joy's patience, understanding, and gentle encouragement completely transformed my child. She fostered a love of learning in everyone and helped them develop confidence and social skills that we never thought possible. We've seen such a positive change in my child's personality and enthusiasm for going to school.

Fun fact: My child at 18 months since Day 1 of Cambridge Robertson has never once cried when we dropped him off to school, in fact when we pick him up, he never wants to leave! 😄

We are so grateful for Teacher Joy's dedication and the positive impact she has had on our child's growing years. She is truly a gifted educator, and we feel so fortunate to have had her as part of our child's early education. Cambridge @ Robertson, has laid a strong foundation for Rykeer's future success. We highly recommend this pre-school to any family looking for a nurturing and enriching learning environment.

One thing to highlight also is: They celebrate a myriad of festivals, and it has taught my child so much about different cultures and races! You name it, they celebrate it, my child is dressed up for Halloween, Deepavali, Mid-Autumn Festival, Hari Raya and so much more! Also the friendships that were forged continues even after we graduated, even among the parents, it’s amazing! Grateful from the bottom of our hearts!

TESTIMONIALS

  • “Early childhood education at Cambridge was key to our children’s success.”

A note of gratitude from our parents and their reflection on how early years education shapes lifelong success in their children:

Looking back at our children’s journeys, it’s so clear that the foundation of who they are today started with the teachers at Cambridge preschool. As parents, expats and academics, we’ve watched the simple habits you taught our children scale into the complex interactions they flourish in today. As parents, we have no doubt that early childhood education at Cambridge opened the doors to their success.

Cambridge allowed them to explore and create a space where challenges were something to embrace. While providing a respectful multicultural setting, Cambridge taught important values such as discipline through fun activities like dance performances. Their holistic approach gave our children important tools to succeed later in life. Today, we see that same “can do” spirit when our son presents research at international science conferences or when our daughter takes on responsibilities in the medical field.

Teachers and aunties at Cambridge didn’t just see them as individuals, but as part of a community. The empathy and collaboration they learned at Cambridge formed the backbone of how they work today, whether it is collaborating across global institutions or in providing patient-centered care and mentoring their peers.

What we treasure most is the encouragement to lifelong learning as the norm which led our children to their current paths in theoretical machine learning, neuroscience, and biomedicine. Being equipped with skills of math, reading, writing and the appreciation of the arts and diverse cultures, our children entered primary school ready. Spending our own careers teaching at the PhD level, we know that technical skills can still be taught later, but important abilities, such as inner drive and a sense of belonging, need to be seeded early. We are very grateful that Cambridge Preschool helped instill these very qualities that allow our children to flourish today. As parents we have no doubt that their early childhood education at Cambridge was a key element to their success.

“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude, first of all, to teacher Joy and Lee Laoshi for being the guiding lights of this journey. They didn’t just teach ABCs, 1-2-3s and how to queue up without starting a small riot. They taught kindness, resilience, curiosity, and the all important life lessons, which is that it’s okay to fall as long as you pick yourself back up. You have helped shape our little ones into who they are today, and we are forever grateful.”

    — Kiga Hiroyuki, parent of Kokomi

A proud dad shared a heartfelt tribute at our Cambridge Pre-school Graduation Ceremony, honouring the Class of 2025 from Cambridge @ River Valley with humour, warmth and deep gratitude.

In this Parents’ Accolade, Hiro reflected on how quickly our little ones grow, how friendships take root, and how the smallest everyday moments like dropping snacks, birthday celebrations, school outings and playful chaos become the memories parents cherish most.

He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the teachers and staff who nurture more than academics. His message is a beautiful reminder that it truly takes a village of parents, teachers and a caring community to raise confident, joyful learners.

“Cambridge has a very personalised approach.”

    Parents of Cian

Our son has been attending Cambridge for the last 2 years. The environment that Teacher Iza, Tong Laoshi and team creates helps him feel safe, develop and have fun. They have a very personalised approach where we feel they care about his development as a person as well as his educational skills. We also appreciate their proactive communication with us as parents for his ‘moments that matter’ and his growth areas. They are exceptional educators and we feel very grateful for the experience they are providing our son and their partnership with us

“He has become very interested in puzzles and problem-solving.”

    Parents of Oliver

Our son has grown so much since attending Cambridge and has developed many skills along the way. He has become very interested in puzzles and problem-solving skills. He also loves to play (as all children do) and makes a strong effort to watch, learn, and include everyone around him. He has even taken a liking to learning mandarin and sings some of his favorite nursery rhymes in this language. Cambridge has also helped me feel closer to him through the many photos and videos uploaded regularly by teachers there. They all really seem to capture his best side and helps me follow along with his education and time there.

“We were looking for a preschool with a Japanese language class.”

    Parents of Suzuki Lily Anna

We decided to enroll our child in Cambridge Pre-school when she was 18 months old because we were looking for a preschool with a Japanese language class.

Cambridge preschool is a local preschool, but there are two Japanese teachers stationed every day, which is very encouraging to consult in Japanese.  The former teachers often send us many pictures, so the whole family can share and enjoy how she is enjoying school life.

The curriculum is also exciting, and my child has a lot of full-fledged experiences even though she is still a toddler. Our child is a bit shy, but we are relieved to see her smiles and interact with her teachers and friends.

“I look forward to the photos of activities and work that my child brings back at the end of the month.”

    Parents of Koto Fukuda.

The teachers are friendly, so our child enjoys going to the kindergarten.  The curriculum is solid, and it seems that my daughter enjoys learning, learning with hands, and experiential learning with all five senses.  I look forward to the photos of activities that teachers uploaded and the work that my child brought back at the end of the month.  Above all, it is very encouraging as Japanese parents that there are Japanese teachers who stay in the center daily to support the children and the family.

“She brings home all kinds of STEM terminology that she applies to various aspects of daily life

    Mother of Lucy

Lucy’s father and I have loved watching Lucy blossom before our eyes over the last year she has spent at Cambridge Robertson Walk. Not only does she bring home all kinds of STEM terminology that she applied to various aspects of daily life (such as identifying the pulley system she sees in constructions cranes and curtain cords, stump us with her new Mandaring vocabulary, as well as introduce us to games and toys from Japanese Culture from the weekly culture class, but she also has evolved into a more assertive and socially bold kid. We are so grateful for the learning sanctuary Cambridge provides, and feels so assured every time we receive thoughtful feedback from the teachers there

First of all, thank you for all the care for my son. He already went to school for 2 months now and he loved it! He doesn’t speak well yet but when he comes back home after school, he sings a song to me and told me what he did in school 🙂

I’m so glad that’s he was able to learn a lot at school. Also, I’m so glad to see my son’s pictures at school every day!

Thank you for your continued support.

“…he was a ‘Mr. No’ child, but now he is a confident boy.”

Ms Chua Chew Peng, Mother of Hector Lee

Time flies .. Hector will be graduating end of this year with Cambridge @ Robertson. I share with him the same mixed feelings, excited that he will be entering a new milestone but sad that he is leaving the school soon. The past 3 years had been an excellent experience for Hector. Besides the fundamental academic curriculum, the school cultivates real-world skills through project work.   With a different theme topic in each term, Hector learns and develops valuable skill that enables him to communicate, collaborate, manage changes and being creative which are essential skills to prepare him for tomorrow’s world. He has also established strong friendship with his classmates.  He would share about his interaction with them in class, whose birthday is coming and what snacks to buy for his friends when they have an outings.  This is necessity for a healthy psychological development and I am glad Hector is coping this very well.

We would like to convey our appreciation to ALL teachers and staffs who have been part of his life for the last 3 years. They took great efforts to understand each and every child’s unique personality and nurture them. I remembered very clearly when Hector first started with Cambridge, he was a “Mr. No” child, but now he is a confident child who has the necessary skills to move forward to the next stage.

“…the diversity of cultures…made the school even more interesting!”

Rita Noyce, Mother of Adam & Emma

It’s been a lovely experience being part of the Cambridge family.

The diversity of cultures among students and teachers has made the school even more interesting!

As a parent, it has been so rewarding seeing how Adam has become a very confident and independent person. For all this, thanks to the experience teachers. They have always been so caring, supportive and friendly.
From Adam’s first day of school, all the teachers made him/us feel very welcomed. We could feel the homely environment and we knew without doubt that we had made the right choice for our son.

The variety of activities, projects, outdoor visits and so on, have been great not only for Adam but for the rest of our family. As a parent, being able to participate in some of these activities has also being fantastic! We have had the pleasure to meet other parents and got to know the teachers a little bit more.

Adam will miss Cambridge so much but he will always have unforgettable memories with his dear friends and teachers. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for helping Adam become the boy he is now.

    “…an authentic learning experience.”

    Parents of Faaiz & Zara

Cambridge @ Robertson has been more than a school for our children. It has not only been a memorable but also an authentic learning experience for them. The project based approach is truly helpful in acquiring life long learning skills based on the real world scenarios and environment. Each term has something different and interesting to offer and look forward to. It has also opened up their minds to the whole new world through discovery, experimentation and learning. We love the way excursions, activities and events are organised per given topics. From languages to numbers to science to current affairs, the vast variety of topics are covered during the year. It is also heartening to see how teachers and staff give individual attention to each child based on their learning abilities and skills. Not only this, the teachers have really been instrumental in mental and physical development of our children as well as providing them with a loving and caring environment during these crucial years of their lives. Both Faaiz and Zara love the outdoors and water-sand-play too during the week. Zara thoroughly enjoys her ballet class as well. Every day, they have something new to share with us and talk about at home.

The school also caters to different kinds of learners. For example, our son is more of a visual and auditory learner whereas, our daughter prefers to have a more hands-on experience and visuals. Not only this, they have also improved their imaginary as well as fine motor skills and we can see a difference over these years. Our son in K2 to some extent can read, write, draw and even take up group projects and talk about different topics in hand. They are able to speak well and have also gained confidence in interacting with people from different cultures and backgrounds based on the mix of classmates and teachers they have in school. We are happy to see them acquiring multilingual skills too. They are both non-native speakers of Mandarin and their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills have dramatically improved over these years and so much so that they are ready to take it up as their mother tongue in primary school and onwards.

Besides, we loved the idea of having technology – interactive board and a computer in each classroom to have a more immersive learning experience rather than just books. They are also taught to be fairly independent individuals. Our son’s habits have definitely improved. We, as parents, are extremely thankful to the teachers and school for their efforts in the best nurture of our children and look forward to even more exciting years ahead with our little daughter still in school while our son moving on to Primary 1 soon. Thank you so much everyone!
