Joy filled the air at Cambridge @ River Valley as the children celebrated the Tanabata Festival! Dressed in colourful summer yukata, jinbei and cheerful party attire, the little ones arrived beaming with excitement, filling the school with festive spirit.
This year’s celebration was made even more special with the presence of our wonderful parent volunteers. They joined us in the classrooms to share the magical story of Tanabata, help the children pen their heartfelt wishes on colourful tanzaku, and guide them in crafting beautiful traditional decorations.
The excitement continued with laughter and cheers as the children eagerly took part in a goldfish scooping game, a classic at Japanese summer festivals!
It was a heartwarming day filled with culture, connection and joy. We hope each wish made finds its way to the stars above. A special thank you to our parent volunteers for bringing the magic of Tanabata to life and sharing this tradition with us!
