Our curious Cambridge @ River Valley K1 explorers had a Water-Powered Adventure as they discovered the fascinating mechanics of the Archimedes’ screw!
Faced with the challenge of moving water upwards using a screw-shaped tube, the children eagerly got to work. Armed with water bottles, tubing, and tubs, they experimented with different angles, heights and turning speeds. With wide-eyed wonder, they watched the water spiral its way upward.
This hands-on activity not only deepened their understanding of how the Archimedes’ screw works but also nurtured problem-solving skills, scientific curiosity and the joy of learning through play.
