Infant Care (2 to 18 months)
A Safe Nurturing Start for Your Child’s First Learning Journey
Home / Pre-School Levels / Infant Care
A Gentle and Supportive Start
The earliest months of your child’s life are shaped by trust, care and meaningful interactions. At this stage, children thrive when they feel safe, comforted and emotionally secure.
At Cambridge Pre-school, our Infant Care centres provide a calm and nurturing environment where your child’s earliest experiences are supported with attentiveness and care. Our educarers focus on building warm, responsive relationships with each child, helping them develop a strong sense of security while gradually becoming familiar with their surroundings and the people who care for them.
We understand that choosing infant care is an important milestone for parents. That is why we place strong emphasis on communication, consistency and personalised care routines that support both your child’s wellbeing and your peace of mind.
What Your Child Will Experience
Responsive Care and Meaningful Interactions
During infancy, relationships form the foundation for learning and development. Our educarers interact closely with each child through daily routines, play, songs and conversations, helping children build trust and emotional security.
These consistent and nurturing interactions support:
• Emotional attachment and trust
• Early social awareness
• Familiarity with routines and caregivers
Early Communication and Language Exposure
Language development begins long before children speak in full words and sentences.
Through songs, rhymes, storytelling, facial expressions, and daily conversations, children are gradually introduced to languages, both English and Chinese. These interactions help support:
• Listening and recognition skills
• Early communication cues
• Familiarity with sounds and expressions
Physical Growth and Motor Development
Infants are constantly developing new physical abilities. Safe spaces and guided activities support milestones such as:
• Rolling, crawling, standing and walking
• Hand-eye coordination
• Balance and body awareness
Children are encouraged to move and explore at their own pace in a safe and supervised environment.
Care Routines That Build Security and Familiarity
Daily routines play an important role in helping infants feel secure and settled.
Children experience a balanced rhythm of:
• Feeding and nutrition
• Rest and sleep
• Play and exploration
• Calm transitions throughout the day
These familiar routines provide children with a reassuring sense of predictability, helping them feel secure.
Our Infant Care programme also includes:
• Freshly prepared nutritious meals
• Weekly infant massage by trained educarers
• Close communication with parents regarding routines and wellbeing
A Strong Foundation for the Next Stage
As children grow, they gradually become more familiar with routines, interactions and their surroundings.
The sense of trust, emotional security and familiarity children developed during Infant Care provides a natural bridge into our Toddler Care Programme (18 months to 2 years old), where they begin participating more actively in group experiences.
Why Parents Choose Cambridge’s Infant Care
Caring and Attentive Educarers
“The special and detailed attention, patience and great efforts by the teachers make school a wonderful learning place. The constant updates on my little girl’s progress are truly commendable. This gives us strong assurance that our little girl is in the good hands of the well-trained teachers while we are at work.”
-Parent of Tan Reiwa
Visible Growth and Development
“We have had positive experiences with the infant care at Cambridge @ Kingsford Waterbay. When my baby rejected the bottle at the start, the teachers were so patient and tried ways and means to patiently coax her to drink. In a span of just 3 months of starting infant care, I’ve also seen how my baby has adjusted socially. She’s not as anxious when carried by others and even grandparents have commented that infant care has done her a lot of good!”
-Parent of Jordanne
Clear Communication with Parents
“We especially appreciate how the staff members work closely as a team and constantly communicate openly with and engage us, the parents, to understand each child’s unique needs to help reach his full potential. The teachers take time and effort to understand the children, and we are amazed at how they know the likes and dislikes of our child, sometimes even better than ourselves!” -Parent of Leia
A Gentle and Reassuring Start
“My daughter cried hard on the first day in infant care because she had been with me all the time before the day. But she got used to the class soon and started enjoying school, thanks to all the staff at Cambridge @ MacPherson.”
-Parent of Ayako
A Place Children Love to Be
“We’ve had an absolutely wonderful experience with Cambridge @ MacPherson since enrolling our daughter at just 3 months old. The teachers here are truly amazing – caring, dedicated and so full of love for the children. It’s clear in the way lights up every day when we drop her off; she happily waves goodbye to us with a big smile, eager to start her day. She’s grown so much under their guidance, picking up valuable skills like packing away her toys after playtime and self-feeding with confidence. Some days, she doesn’t even want to leave – she’s that happy!
-Parent, Adele Teo
