My kids have been attending school at Cambridge Serangoon Pre-school for little under a year now.
I’ve found this centre to be better run than most other centres that I’ve observed.
And I think a big reason for that is down the efforts and competence of the Principal Ms Irene.
In selecting a good pre-school for their kids, many parents focus on the school curriculum and setup, but often overlook the competence and the state of the teachers.
Happy teachers often equate to happy kids.
And in this aspect, Ms Irene has excelled.
She understands perfectly, from her years of experience of being a childcare teacher, that if she treats her teachers well, her teachers will treat their kids well.
Beyond that, Ms Irene exudes a sense of calmness that is thankfully infectious.
She is patient with parents and kids alike.
And she goes to great lengths every few months to connect directly with parents and assure us that our kids are in good hands.
Never in a big rush.
And always with a warm smile.
Many things can go wrong at a pre-school. Kids are erratic after all.
But as a very engaged parent, I drop my kids off and leave every morning without a worry because I see Ms Irene at the helm
