The Cambridge @ Fernvale children were introduced to the origins of Total Defence Day and got the opportunity to experience various challenges that previous generations had gone through in the past.
The children learnt about water rationing by using a pail for handwashing, food rationing by steaming tapioca and sweet potatoes, as well as the importance of military and civil defence through dramatisation of fire fighters and medical personnel.
