Cambridge @ River Valley celebrated Japanese Children’s Day (Kodomo no Hi), also known as Tango no Sekku. To mark this special occasion, the children arrived dressed in festive attire, with many donning traditional Japanese outfits, faces beaming with excitement. They learnt about the customs of the day, including the display of koinobori (carp streamers) and kabuto (samurai helmets). One of the highlights was crafting their own vibrant koinobori, carefully decorating them with bright origami scales. Through this cheerful celebration, we hope to inspire the children to grow up strong and resilient, just like the spirited carp that swims upstream with courage and determination.
